UPPSC APS 2023 Recruitment Cancelled: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has taken a major decision regarding the Additional Private Secretary (APS) Examination 2023. The Commission has cancelled the recruitment process for the 331 vacant posts.
According to the official notification issued by the Commission, no candidate was able to meet the prescribed standards during the second stage of the examination; consequently, no candidate was declared successful for the third stage of the examination. This notification was issued on June 2, 2026, from the Public Service Commission office located in Prayagraj.
**5,889 Candidates Qualified in the First Stage**
According to the information released by the Commission, the Additional Private Secretary Examination 2023 was conducted under Advertisement No. A-5/E-1/2023. The first stage of the examination for a total of 331 vacancies was held on January 7, 2024.
The results of this examination were declared on March 4, 2024, wherein a total of 5,889 candidates were declared successful for the second stage of the examination.
Subsequently, the second stage of the examination was conducted in Lucknow from June 28, 2024, to July 18, 2024, across two shifts. A total of 4,240 candidates appeared for this examination.
**Candidates Failed to Achieve Prescribed Speed in Hindi Stenography**
According to the Commission's notification, the second stage of the examination comprised subjects in Hindi Stenography and Hindi Typing. The Hindi Stenography examination carried 75 marks, while the Hindi Typing examination carried 25 marks.
As per the rules and the terms and conditions of the advertisement, it was mandatory to achieve an error-free speed of at least 80 words per minute in Hindi Stenography.
The Commission stated that during the second stage of the examination, no candidate was able to achieve the accurate speed of 80 words per minute as per the prescribed standard. For this reason, no candidate was declared successful for the third stage of the examination.
Commission Cancels All 331 Posts
The UPPSC has clarified that, since no candidate qualified in the second stage, the Commission has carried forward (cancelled) all 331 vacant posts under the Additional Private Secretary Examination 2023.
The Commission further stated that the marks obtained by the concerned candidates, along with other relevant information, will be uploaded to the Commission's official website shortly.
