UP TET 2026: Individuals with Multiple Spouses Will Not Be Able to Appear for UP TET 2026! They Will Not Be Given the Opportunity to Fill Out the Application Form..
UPTET Notification Out, UP TET 2026: There is significant news for young aspirants in Uttar Pradesh who dream of becoming government teachers. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the notification for UP TET 2026—the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test. This time, more than 2 million candidates are expected to participate in this major examination, which covers both the primary and upper-primary levels. The application process will commence on March 27, 2026, and conclude on April 26, 2026. The examination is scheduled to be held on July 2, 3, and 4, 2026. The Commission has introduced several new and stringent regulations this year, which every candidate is advised to read carefully. In particular, a highly significant rule has been issued specifically for married candidates.
Complete Ban on Multiple Marriages
The Commission has established a clear-cut rule stating that candidates practicing polygamy are ineligible to apply for UP TET 2026. If a male candidate is married and has more than one living wife, he will not be considered eligible for this examination. Similarly, if a female candidate marries a man who already has a living wife, she, too, will be barred from appearing for the examination. This rule applies equally to both male and female candidates. The Commission has made this point absolutely clear within its guidelines.
Is There Any Exemption to This Rule?
A slight provision for exception has been included within this strict regulation. If a candidate secures a special exemption from the State Government, they may be exempted from this rule and become eligible to appear for the examination; however, no leniency will be granted to any candidate in the absence of such an exemption.
Passing the TET Does Not Guarantee Employment
The Commission has issued another important cautionary note. Even if a candidate is granted permission to appear for the TET examination and an admit card is duly issued, this does not, in any way, imply that their employment is guaranteed. Passing the TET does not, in itself, confer any legal right to appointment upon a candidate. The recruiting agency or the appointing authority will re-verify all of the candidate's qualifications and documents; therefore, every candidate must personally assume the responsibility of ensuring that they fulfill all the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Commission.
Providing False Information May Lead to Imprisonment
If a candidate does not fall within the scope of the rules yet deceitfully submits an application form, strict action will be taken against them. The Commission has issued a warning stating that providing false, misleading, or incomplete information in the application form will result in its immediate cancellation. Legal proceedings may be initiated against the candidate, and in serious cases, imprisonment may also be imposed.
No Re-verification of OMR Sheets
Following the examination, many candidates request a re-verification of their OMR sheets. Dr. Arun Kumar Singh, the Deputy Secretary of the Commission, has clarified that OMR sheets are evaluated using state-of-the-art machinery (electronic scanning); consequently, the likelihood of any error is extremely low. The Commission will not entertain any requests for the re-verification, re-evaluation, or scrutiny of OMR answer sheets.
Application Period: From When to When?
Online Applications Begin: March 27, 2026
