For the lakhs of aspirants in Uttar Pradesh aiming to become teachers, the first day of the Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET 2026)—conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission—concluded peacefully across both shifts. Stringent security arrangements were in place for the exam. Thanks to modern technology and strict oversight, 15 impostors who had arrived from various districts to take the exam on behalf of others were caught red-handed. Dr. Prashant Kumar, Chairman of the UP Education Service Selection Commission, provided this information.

Impostors Could Not Evade the Keen Eye of AI Cameras

High-tech technology was employed to curb cheating in this exam, rendering the efforts of the 'cheating mafia' and impostors futile. Demonstrating vigilance on the first day, the Commission ensured the arrest of 15 impostors who were attempting to take the exam in place of the genuine candidates.

First Shift: Seven impostors were caught during the morning shift, aided by alert security arrangements and AI cameras.
Second Shift: In the second shift, the Commission maintained strict vigilance and apprehended eight more fraudsters.
The Commission took stern action against all 15 apprehended impostors. They were handed over to the local police along with documentary evidence. The police are now registering FIRs against them and investigating who else is involved in this racket.

Live monitoring via AI-integrated control room

No laxity was permitted at any stage of the examination this time. A state-of-the-art AI-integrated command and control room was established at the Commission's headquarters. Through this control room, direct surveillance was maintained over all 955 exam centers across the state. During the examination, the Commission's Chairman, Dr. Prashant Kumar, along with all Commission members, the Secretary, the Controller of Examinations, and the Deputy Secretary, were present in the control room.
