The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the official notification for the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET). Online applications for the Special TET will commence on September 5, and the deadline for submission is October 4, 2026. Additionally, the last date to make corrections to the online application is October 8. The examination is scheduled to be held on November 3, 2026.
**TET Exam Based on Supreme Court Order**
In accordance with the Supreme Court's directive, it is now mandatory for serving teachers to pass the TET. All serving teachers must clear the TET by the year 2028. However, teachers with less than five years of service remaining are exempt from this requirement and may continue their service without passing the TET.
**Mandatory OTR**
Candidates must complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process before applying for the Special TET. Once the OTR is completed, candidates will be able to apply for the Special TET.
**Registration Fee**
To apply for the Special TET (at both primary and upper levels), General, OBC, and EWS candidates are required to pay a registration fee of ₹1,000; SC and ST candidates must pay ₹500; and candidates belonging to the differently-abled category must pay ₹300.
**Special TET Exam Pattern**
The Special TET will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) totaling 150 marks. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is no provision for negative marking for incorrect answers. To qualify, candidates from the unreserved category must secure 60 percent marks, while candidates from reserved categories must secure 55 percent marks.
