The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department has commenced the application process for the UP Scholarship Scheme 2026-27. Eligible students studying in classes 9 through 12 can apply for the scholarship. This scholarship scheme is available for students belonging to the General, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), and minority communities. The department has released separate application schedules for school-level students and those pursuing post-Class 12 education. Here are the full details:

**Application Period**
For renewal students in classes 9 to 12 (those already receiving the scholarship), the registration and document submission process runs from August 11 to August 25, 2026.

Meanwhile, fresh applicants—including students newly admitted to classes 9 and 11—can apply online from August 11 to September 21, 2026.

**Selection Process**
After applications are submitted, verification will be conducted at the school level, followed by a review by officials at the district level. Subsequently, the National Informatics Centre (NIC) will check the data for any errors. Once all steps are completed and the application is accepted, the scholarship funds will be transferred directly to the students' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.

**When will the scholarship be disbursed?**
According to the department, renewal students in classes 9 to 12 are likely to receive the scholarship amount between October 25 and October 31, 2026, while fresh applicants are expected to receive it between January 25 and January 31, 2027.

**Post-Matric Scholarship (Dashmottar Scholarship)**
Students pursuing graduation, post-graduation, diploma, ITI, or other courses after Class 12 will be eligible to apply under the Post-Matric (Dashmottar) scholarship scheme. Students are advised to apply only through the official portal and to submit the necessary documents to their institution on time after completing the online process.
