UP Police Constable Recruitment 2026: An important update has been released for candidates involved in the recruitment process for 32,679 constable posts in the Uttar Pradesh Police. The Physical Efficiency Test (running test) for candidates who qualified in the written examination will not take place on the originally scheduled date at certain centers. Due to the grounds not being ready following rainfall, the running test scheduled for October 1 at nine centers has been rescheduled to October 8. Meanwhile, the test will proceed as planned at the remaining centers.

**Test at 9 centers rescheduled from October 1 to October 8**
According to the Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, the running test scheduled for October 1 has been moved to October 8 at nine centers. These centers include the 12th Battalion PAC Fatehpur, 8th Battalion PAC Bareilly, 9th Battalion PAC Moradabad, 26th Battalion PAC Gorakhpur, 37th Battalion PAC Kanpur, 6th Battalion PAC Meerut, 47th Battalion PAC Ghaziabad, and 39th Battalion PAC Mirzapur. Candidates assigned to these centers must report for the running test on October 8.

It is important to note that the test dates have not been changed for all candidates. At the remaining six examination centers, the running test will proceed as scheduled starting October 1. These include the 35th Battalion PAC Lucknow and Dr. Shakuntala Misra University, Lucknow. Therefore, candidates should verify their examination center and date based on their admit cards and the information issued by the recruitment board.

**67,724 candidates to take the running test**
A total of 67,724 candidates who qualified in the written examination will now participate in the running test. The Police Recruitment Board is preparing to conduct this phase amidst high-tech security arrangements. Measures for security and surveillance are being implemented to prevent any irregularities during the test.

Around 2.9 million youths applied.
Approximately 2,886,000 candidates applied for the UP Police Constable recruitment. Of these, more than 2.2 million candidates appeared for the written examination. Following the written exam, successful candidates must now undergo a physical efficiency test. Candidates who succeed in this stage will proceed to the next phase of the recruitment process.
