The UPSSSC is conducting the PET (Preliminary Eligibility Test) across the state today. Candidates will appear for the first paper of the PET, which will be held in two shifts. The first shift is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) is holding the PET across the state today, October 25. Candidates will take the first paper of the PET, which will be conducted in two shifts: the first shift from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the second shift from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

With lakhs of candidates from across the state participating, the Commission has advised them to be careful and avoid minor mistakes. If you are also appearing for the UP PET, ensure you are well-prepared in advance.

Exam Dates

The UPSSSC PET 2026 is scheduled for October 25, October 30, and November 1. A total of 1,372 examination centers have been set up across 60 districts in the state, with 35,41,297 candidates registered for the exam. The test will be conducted in two shifts.

Arrive at the Exam Center on Time

The UP administration has specified that candidates must report to their exam centers two hours before the start of the examination. The main gates of the exam centers will close 30 minutes before the commencement of each shift—at 9:30 AM for the morning shift and at 2:30 PM for the afternoon shift. Once the gates are closed, no candidate will be permitted to enter the center under any circumstances. Therefore, candidates are strongly advised to reach their exam centers well in time.

Don't Forget to Carry These Documents to the Examination

Candidates are required to carry specific documents to gain entry into the examination hall. The most essential document is the admit card; candidates should download it from the commission's official website. Additionally, candidates must bring an original photo identity proof—such as an Aadhaar card, voter ID, passport, or driving license—along with a photocopy of the same. Furthermore, please attach two recent passport-sized photographs to your Aadhaar card (or the chosen identity proof), with your name, roll number, and the date of the examination written on the back of each.

Prohibited Items

In accordance with examination rules, the use of electronic devices at the centers is strictly prohibited. Candidates are not permitted to carry mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, or any other electronic gadgets into the examination hall. Only blue or black ballpoint pens are allowed for writing during the exam.

Exam Pattern and Negative Marking Rules

The UP PET examination will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), to be completed within a duration of 2 hours. The syllabus covers subjects such as History, Geography, Economy, Constitution, General Science, Mathematics, Hindi, English, Logical Reasoning, and Graph Analysis. The examination also includes a provision for negative marking; one-fourth of a mark (0.25 marks) will be deducted for every incorrect answer. It is mandatory for candidates to correctly enter the serial number of the question paper on the OMR sheet. Ensure that the circles are filled completely; do not fill them only partially, and do not mark more than one circle for a single question, as doing so will render the answer invalid.
