The exam is likely to be held in October or November, with the specific schedule to be released alongside the notification.

**UPSSSC makes OTR mandatory**
UPSSSC has made One-Time Registration (OTR) mandatory for all its recruitment processes. In this context, candidates wishing to appear for UP PET 2026 are required to complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process. This can be done by visiting the UPSSSC website. UPSSSC introduced the OTR system to spare candidates the inconvenience of registering repeatedly for different applications; completing the OTR once eliminates the need for separate registrations for various recruitment drives. The commission has already initiated the OTR process, and over 67,000 candidates have registered within just five days.

For the 2025 PET, 25.32 lakh youths had registered, with 19.42 lakh actually appearing for the exam. The commission has clarified that OTR is mandatory for future PET and other recruitment examinations. This explains why 67,225 youths have registered for OTR in a span of only five days. UPSSSC aims to maximize the number of OTR registrations so that the PET notification can be issued next month and the exam conducted on schedule. The commission had previously conducted the PET for 2025 on September 6–7.
