Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing and M.Sc. Nursing has been initiated within the state; this is a crucial period for any student wishing to build a career in the field of nursing. Applications are being accepted exclusively via online mode, and the deadline has been set for May 20. This year, the admission process has been launched ahead of schedule to ensure that students face no difficulties and that all available seats are filled in a timely manner.
How Did the Nursing Admission Process Begin in UP?
The admission process for nursing courses in Uttar Pradesh for the 2026-27 academic session has officially begun. This entire process is being conducted under the aegis of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University. According to the University's Controller of Examinations, Dr. Devashish Shukla, all preparations for the Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) have been completed. Based on the results of this examination, students will be allotted seats in both government and private colleges.
Important Dates for Nursing Admissions in UP
The application process for admission to nursing courses in Uttar Pradesh commenced on March 28, and students may submit their applications online until May 20. In the event of any errors in the application form, students will be provided an opportunity to make corrections between May 13 and May 20. Admit cards are scheduled to be issued on May 30, following which the entrance examination will be conducted on June 6. Meanwhile, the examination results are expected to be declared during the second week of June. Subsequently, the counseling and admission procedures will commence, and the entire admission drive—including seat allocation across all colleges—is slated to be completed by July 15.
How to Apply for Nursing Admissions?
This time around, the entire application process has been designated as strictly online. No applications submitted via post or through offline channels will be accepted. Students are required to fill out and submit the online application form within the stipulated time. To be eligible for admission to the B.Sc. Nursing course, students must have passed the 12th grade (Intermediate) in the Science stream. Additionally, a minimum aggregate score of 45% is mandatory, and having English as a subject is a prerequisite.
How will the Nursing Admission Exams be Conducted in UP?
The entrance examination for nursing admissions in UP will be conducted in offline mode. The question paper will be available in both Hindi and English languages. A total of 20 examination centers have been established across the state, and the examination will be conducted under the aegis of CNET (Common Nursing Entrance Test). The examination will be held in several major cities across Uttar Pradesh, including Agra, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Basti, Banda, Ghaziabad, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Mirzapur, Moradabad, Prayagraj, Saharanpur, Varanasi, and Gautam Buddha Nagar.
Seat Availability for Nursing Admissions in UP
For this academic year, the seat distribution for nursing courses is as follows: approximately 1,370 B.Sc. Nursing seats in government colleges; approximately 10,240 B.Sc. Nursing seats in private colleges; approximately 270 M.Sc. Nursing seats in government colleges; and approximately 1,100 M.Sc. Nursing seats in private colleges. Furthermore, there is a possibility that the number of B.Sc. Nursing seats may increase by approximately 150 this year.
