UP DElEd 2025-27: If you dream of becoming a primary teacher, the UP DElEd (Diploma in Elementary Education) course is the best option for you. The Uttar Pradesh Examination Regulatory Authority (ERA) has released the complete counseling schedule for the 2025-27 session. This time, online counseling is starting from January 12, 2026, but surprisingly, there are a total of 2.39 lakh seats in the state, while only 1.24 lakh candidates have applied. This means that even if everyone gets admission, approximately 1.15 lakh seats will remain vacant. This reflects the declining interest of students in teacher training courses.

Total Seats and Application Status
This year, a total of 2,39,500 seats are available for DElEd in Uttar Pradesh. This includes 10,600 seats in 67 government DIET institutions and 2,28,900 seats in 3,304 private and minority colleges. However, only 1,24,230 applications have been received. Even if all applicants are given a seat, 1,15,270 seats will remain vacant. These figures indicate that teacher training courses are no longer as popular as they once were.

Counseling Fee and How to Fill College Choices?
All candidates from rank 1 to 1,24,230 can pay the counseling fee of Rs. 5,000 and fill their college choices from January 8 to February 10, 2026. Everything will be done online at updeled.gov.in. Counseling will be conducted in a phased manner based on rank.

The first phase will be in three parts:
Rank 1 to 20,000: College choice filling dates: January 12 to 14. Seat allotment result: January 15.
Rank 20,001 to 70,000: Choice filling: January 15 to 18, Result: January 19. Ranks 70,001 to 1,24,230: Choice filling from January 19 to 22, results on January 23.
Those allotted seats in the first phase must complete all admission formalities at the college by 6 PM on January 30, 2026.

Second Phase Details
The second phase is for students who did not get a seat in the first phase:
February 5 to 8: Choice filling for candidates from other states and OBC, SC, ST, and Special Category candidates from Uttar Pradesh.

February 9: Results of this phase.
February 9 to 12: Open choice filling for all ranks.
The admission process will run from February 11 to 21, 2026, until 5 PM. Colleges must submit online reports by February 23. The new session will begin on February 24, 2026.

What about reservations and vacant seats?
If seats reserved for OBC, SC, ST, or Special Categories remain vacant even after giving opportunities to all eligible candidates, they will be converted to the unreserved (General) category in the final stage of the second phase.

Important Tips for Candidates
Most importantly, fill your choices only within the specified dates according to your rank. Check all updates, notices, and counseling information only on the official website updeled.gov.in. Do not trust any third-party website or rumors. If you have applied, pay the fees and lock your choices quickly. There are more seats this time, so it's a good opportunity, but the vacant seats indicate that interest in the course is decreasing.
