The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has released an important update for Class 12 students appearing in the UP Board Practical Exam 2026. With the practical examinations approaching, the board has officially issued roll numbers for Intermediate (Class 12) students ahead of time. These roll numbers have been made available through the board’s official system to ensure smooth conduct of practical exams.

Students should note that while admit cards for theory and practical examinations are yet to be released, the roll numbers have already been generated and shared with schools. Here is everything students need to know about exam dates, roll number access, subjects, evaluation process, and important instructions.

UP Board Practical Exam 2026: Key Dates and Schedule

According to UPMSP, the Class 12 practical examinations will be conducted in two phases from January 24, 2026, to February 9, 2026. These exams will take place ahead of the main board examinations, which are scheduled to begin on February 18, 2026.

The board has clarified that practical exams will cover 53 subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Agriculture, Home Science, and several other science and vocational subjects. This year, a total of 21,74,326 Intermediate students are registered to appear for the practical examinations across the state.

Roll Numbers Issued Before Admit Cards

In a significant move, UPMSP has released roll numbers for students well before issuing admit cards. The decision was taken under the directions of UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh to facilitate proper assessment during practical exams.

The roll numbers have been uploaded to the official UPMSP portal (upmsp.edu.in) and shared with district education authorities. Admit cards for both practical and theory exams are expected to be released by January 30, 2026.

How Can Students Check Their Roll Numbers?

Students will not need to download roll numbers directly from the website. Instead, roll numbers have been distributed through official channels to ensure accuracy.

Here’s how students can access them:

  • Roll numbers have been provided to District School Inspectors (DIOS)

  • DIOS offices have shared roll numbers with respective schools

  • Schools will distribute roll numbers to students directly

Students are advised to contact their school administration for their roll number details. These roll numbers are essential, as examiners will award marks strictly according to the roll number sequence.

Exam Centers and Evaluation Arrangements

For the first phase of practical examinations, the UP Board has established 7,401 examination centers across Uttar Pradesh. To ensure transparency and efficiency, the board has appointed 9,075 external examiners.

A major highlight this year is the enhanced monitoring system. The board has instructed district authorities to conduct practical examinations under CCTV surveillance. This move aims to maintain fairness, prevent malpractice, and ensure uniform evaluation standards across centers.

Update on Class 10 Internal Assessment Marks

Alongside Intermediate updates, UPMSP has also opened the portal for uploading Class 10 internal assessment marks. School principals are required to upload marks online using roll numbers.

For Class 10 students:

  • Internal assessment carries 30 marks per subject

  • Grades for sports and moral education must also be uploaded

For Class 12 students:

  • Physical Education and Sports carry 50 marks written + 50 marks practical

  • Schools must upload marks carefully to avoid discrepancies

Total Roll Numbers Released for 2026 Board Exams

UPMSP has confirmed that roll numbers for a total of 52,30,297 students appearing in the 2026 board exams have been issued on the school portal.

This includes:

  • 27,50,945 High School (Class 10) students

  • 24,79,352 Intermediate (Class 12) students

This early release is expected to streamline exam preparation and administrative processes.
