UP Board Exam 2026: A major irregularity has been discovered during the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UP Board) examination. The Intermediate Sanskrit question paper was opened before the scheduled date of March 12th at Maa Sharda Inter College, Singhpur Saraiya, in the Palhna area. This incident has caused a stir within the education department, and an investigation has been launched.
The paper for the March 12th exam was opened early.
According to a Live Hindustan report, the Intermediate Sanskrit exam is scheduled for March 12th, but the question paper was opened at the college on Friday. Furthermore, a report was sent by the center stating that not a single candidate appeared for the subject. When this report reached the board office, officials became suspicious and immediately visited the center to investigate.
Vinod Rai, Secretary of the Regional Office in Varanasi, Joint Director of Education, Naval Kishore, and District School Inspector-in-Charge, Manoj Kumar, arrived at the site. Initial investigations revealed negligence on the part of the center administrator, the static magistrate, and the external center administrator. Officials stated that opening the question paper before the scheduled date was a serious violation of examination rules. The question paper has been resealed and stored safely. A detailed report is being prepared and sent to higher officials.
The department has issued instructions for action.
The Joint Director of Education has described the entire matter as serious. He stated that strict action will be taken against the guilty officials. An investigation is currently underway, and a report is being prepared. This incident has raised questions about the security and monitoring of the board exams.
Five solvers caught, FIR registered.
On the third day of the exam, five solvers were caught in different districts of the state. FIRs have been registered against all of them under the Uttar Pradesh Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024. A total of 11 solvers have been caught so far. In addition, three candidates were also caught cheating. In the first shift, one solver each was caught in Gorakhpur and Pratapgarh. In the second shift, one solver each was caught in Jhansi, Kannauj, and Etah.
Millions of students appeared for the exam, but thousands were absent.
A total of 298,959 candidates were absent on the third day of the exam. In the first shift, from 8:30 am to 11:45 am, the high school Social Science and Intermediate Agriculture exams were conducted at 8,033 centers. Of the 2,767,087 registered students, 170,190 were absent.
In the second shift, from 2 pm to 5:15 pm, the Intermediate English exam was conducted at 7,997 centers. Of the 2,354,918 students registered for this subject, 128,769 did not appear.
