UP Board Exam 2026: Big action against cheating; UP Board answer sheets will now come in new formats and colors..
The Uttar Pradesh government and the UP Board have taken the biggest step yet against the cheating mafia. To maintain the credibility of the board examinations, the entire design of the answer sheets has been changed for the first time in its 100-year history. As preparations for the 2026 UP Board Class 10th and 12th examinations begin, major changes have been implemented to curb cheating. The layout, color, and security system of the answer sheets have been completely revamped by the board.
The answer sheets will now be in portrait format, whereas previously they were in landscape format. Each page will bear the monogram of the Secondary Education Council, making it virtually impossible to copy or tamper with them.
Answer Sheets in Different Colors
The answer sheets have been prepared in different colors to facilitate easy identification and eliminate any possibility of manipulation. The Class 12th A copy will have 24 pages, with the first page being magenta. The Class 12th B copy will have 12 pages and will be green. Similarly, the Class 10th A copy will have 18 pages and will be brown, while the B copy will have 12 pages and will be green.
According to Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh, the new layout has been designed in such a way that there will be no scope for swapping answer sheets. Students will not face any difficulty writing in the new format and will be able to write their answers as before.
Printing at Government Presses Only
The new answer sheets will be printed only at government presses in Prayagraj, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Rampur. No private press has been given permission to print them, to prevent the examination mafia from reproducing the answer sheets. This special printing process will strengthen both the confidentiality and security of the examinations.
In recent years, there have been continuous complaints of cheating and tampering with answer sheets. This major change has been implemented to eliminate these problems. Officials hope that this new system will ensure completely fair examinations and that hardworking students will receive their rightful due.
