UIDAI Online Data Hackathon 2026: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has announced an online hackathon for 2026. This competition will be based on data related to Aadhaar enrollment and updates, aiming to understand societal trends and patterns.
The online application process will begin on January 5, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates can apply until January 20, 2026.
What to do?
In this hackathon, UIDAI will provide anonymized data sets related to Aadhaar enrollment and updates. Participants will have to analyze these data sets to identify significant trends, anomalies, or future indicators to aid in policy making and system improvements.
First Prize: Rs. 2 Lakhs
The prizes include a first prize of Rs. 2 lakhs, a second prize of Rs. 1.5 lakhs, third prize of Rs. 75,000, fourth prize of Rs. 50,000, and a fifth prize of Rs. 25,000. All winners will also receive certificates.

Who can apply for the UIDAI Hackathon?
This competition is open to students studying at any recognized university or institution in the country.
Participants must be at least 18 years old as of January 1, 2026.
Students can participate individually or in teams of up to five members.
The team leader must submit the student identity cards of all members at the time of project submission. Service providers associated with UIDAI and NIC are not eligible to participate in this hackathon.
UIDAI Hackathon Registration: How to register?
Registration is mandatory for all participants through the JanParichay portal. After logging in, participants can visit event.data.gov.in to fill in information related to the hackathon. New users will first need to register on JanParichay using their mobile number. Participants are advised to update their email IDs.
Ideas must be submitted within 15 days.
This hackathon will be conducted entirely online. After the launch, participants will have 15 days to register and submit their ideas. Shortlisted teams will be invited to present their ideas to UIDAI officials and the jury panel. The awards ceremony may be held in Delhi or Bengaluru, with travel expenses for the selected teams covered by UIDAI.
