There is significant news for young aspirants currently preparing for the UGC NET and JRF examinations. According to reports, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the notification for the UGC NET June 2026 examination at any moment. Concurrently with the release of the notification, the NTA will also initiate the application process. Subsequently, eligible and qualified candidates will be able to fill out the application form online by visiting the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in, within the specified dates.

**Eligibility Criteria and Norms for the UGC NET Exam**
To appear for the UGC NET 2026 examination, a candidate must have either completed their post-graduation in the relevant subject or be currently pursuing their final year of post-graduate studies.
Candidates holding a 4-year undergraduate degree are also eligible to appear for this examination.
For those applying for the JRF (Junior Research Fellowship), the maximum age limit for the candidate must not exceed 31 years.
There is no upper age limit for the NET (National Eligibility Test).

**Steps to Apply**
To fill out the UGC NET June 2026 application form, candidates must first visit the official website: ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
On the website's homepage, under the 'LATEST NEWS' section, click on the link titled "Registration for UGC-NET June 2026 is LIVE!".
On the subsequent page, click on the 'Registration' option and complete the registration process by providing the requested details.

Once registered, candidates must complete the application form by filling in all other relevant details.
Subsequently, candidates are required to upload their photograph and signature.
Finally, pay the prescribed application fee, submit the form, and take a printout of the submitted form for future reference.

**Application Fee**
The application fee is set at ₹1,150 for General/Unreserved category candidates, and ₹600 for candidates belonging to the OBC and EWS categories. Additionally, the application fee for candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and PH (Persons with Disabilities) categories has been fixed at ₹325.

**176,879 Candidates Qualified in the December Session**
The UGC NET examination is conducted across three distinct categories. Combining all three categories, a total of 176,879 candidates qualified in the December session. Candidates registered for the UGC NET Exam: 993,702

Qualified for JRF and Assistant Professor: 5,108
Qualified for Assistant Professor and Admission to Ph.D.: 54,713
Qualified for Ph.D. only: 117,058
