The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued important guidelines for candidates applying for the UGC NET June 2026 examination. The agency has explicitly stated that candidates must exercise utmost caution while applying, as there will be no opportunity to modify various details once the application form has been submitted. Specifically, the NTA has issued warnings regarding the submission of multiple application forms, subject selection, and the accurate entry of personal information.

The UGC NET examination is conducted nationwide for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), for eligibility as an Assistant Professor, and for admission to PhD programs. Consequently, candidates have been advised to complete the application process with great care.

**Only One Application Form Will Be Valid**
The NTA has clarified that candidates appearing for the UGC NET June 2026 examination must submit only one application form. If a candidate submits more than one application—whether for the same subject or for different subjects—all such additional applications will be rejected. According to the agency, only the final application submitted by the candidate will be considered valid.

**Exercise Caution in Subject Selection**
The NTA has advised candidates to select their subject very thoughtfully while filling out the application form. No requests to change the subject will be entertained once the form has been submitted. Therefore, candidates must select the correct subject in accordance with their postgraduate (PG) specialization.

**Accurate Information is Mandatory**
The agency has also stated that all information entered in the application form must be completely accurate and unambiguous. Applications are liable to be rejected if incorrect or incomplete information is provided. Candidates are strongly advised to thoroughly verify all details before submitting the form.

**Application Deadline**
The application process for UGC NET June 2026 commenced on April 29, and candidates may submit their applications until May 20, 2026. The examination is scheduled to be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode between June 22 and June 30, 2026. A total of 85 subjects are covered under this examination. Candidates can complete the application process by visiting the official website.
