Here is an important update for candidates preparing for the UGC NET exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to commence the application process for the UGC NET December 2026 exam soon. Last year, applications for the December session exam began on October 7; therefore, it is anticipated that the notification will be released and applications accepted starting in early October.
**Exam Date Announced**
The NTA has already announced the dates for the UGC NET December exam. According to the released exam calendar, the UGC NET (December Cycle) exam will be conducted nationwide at designated centers from December 14 to December 19, 2026.
**Eligibility Criteria**
To fill out the UGC NET December 2026 application form, candidates must have either completed their post-graduation in the relevant subject or be currently studying in the final year of the program. Candidates who have completed a 4-year undergraduate degree are also eligible to appear for this exam. Additionally, for JRF applications, the candidate's age must not exceed 31 years; however, there is no upper age limit for the NET exam.
**Application Fee**
Application fees for the UGC NET exam vary by category. General/Unreserved candidates are required to pay ₹1,150, while candidates belonging to the OBC and EWS categories must pay ₹600. The application fee for SC, ST, and PH categories is set at ₹325. Payments can be made via debit card, credit card, net banking, or e-challan.
**Steps to Fill the Form**
To fill out the UGC NET December 2026 form, first visit the official website: ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
On the website's home page, look under the 'LATEST NEWS' section and click on "Registration for UGC-NET DEC 2026 is LIVE!"
On the new page, click on "Register yourself for the above-mentioned examination" and complete the registration by providing the required details.
Once registered, the candidate will need to fill in the remaining details related to the application form. After this, candidates will have to upload their photograph and signature.
Finally, the prescribed fee must be paid; after submitting the form, take a printout and keep it safe.
