The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the UGC NET December 2025 results. This examination is crucial for candidates aspiring to work as Junior Research Fellows (JRF) or Assistant Professors, or those seeking PhD admissions. Candidates can now check their results on the official website. UGC NET is a national-level examination conducted for academicians and researchers in India.
The main objective of this examination is to ensure that qualified and competent candidates are selected as teachers or researchers in higher education. The December 2025 examination was conducted in a computer-based mode over six days, covering 85 subjects. The exam was held between December 31, 2025, and January 7, 2026, across 663 examination centers in 283 cities nationwide, in 11 shifts.

Cut-off for JRF and Assistant Professor
The highest cut-off marks for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) were 248 in the unreserved category. This was followed by 244 in Buddhist and Jain Studies and 240 in French. 5,141 candidates qualified for JRF, 59,821 for Assistant Professor, and 117,058 for PhD admissions. The NTA also ensured that the examination evaluation process was transparent and fair for the candidates. Accordingly, the candidates' question papers, final answer keys, and their responses were made available on the NTA website from January 14 to January 17, 2026.
Further Process for JRF and Assistant Professor
Candidates who have qualified for both JRF and Assistant Professor positions will be issued eligibility certificates and JRF award letters through the NTA portal. These certificates will be very useful for candidates in their further academic or research activities.
