The UGC clarified that the application start date and the full schedule will be released separately. Applications for both scholarship schemes will be accepted exclusively through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

What instructions have been issued to Higher Education Institutions?
The UGC has directed the Institutional Nodal Officers (INOs) of all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to complete the verification, approval, error identification, or rejection of scholarship applications received on the NSP within 15 days.

The objective of this system is to provide students with an opportunity to rectify any deficiencies or errors in their applications in a timely manner, ensuring they can submit their applications correctly before the portal closes.

Additionally, the UGC has asked institutions to provide necessary guidance and support to eligible students during the application process and to assist in resolving any issues that may arise.

Which students will benefit?
The 'National Scholarship for Post-Graduate Studies' (NSPG) is intended for students pursuing post-graduate (PG) level studies.
The 'Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme' is specifically designed for students from the North Eastern Region of India.

Both these schemes are administered by the UGC through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
