A major and crucial warning has emerged for students and parents across the country. As the college admission season approaches, many institutions begin making grandiose claims; however, not everything that glitters is gold. Clarifying this point, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a stern warning, urging the public not to seek admission at the Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, located in Bhiwadi, Alwar district, Rajasthan. The UGC has included this institute in its list of fake universities.

UGC’s Strict Warning

The Commission has stated that this institute is not recognized under Section 2(f) and Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Consequently, it possesses no authority to award degrees. Any degrees issued by this institute to date will be considered invalid—neither accepted for further studies nor recognized for government employment purposes. The UGC has appealed to parents, students, and the general public to steer clear of such “self-styled” institutions.

Prior Notices Issued as Well

In February 2026, the UGC had previously issued a notice listing this institute as fraudulent. This latest warning has been issued once again to ensure that no student inadvertently seeks admission to this institution.
