UCEED 2026: Registration for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) 2026, the exam that paves the way for admission to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des), has begun. Those interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Design degree after completing 12th grade can prepare for this national-level test conducted by IIT Bombay.

The test will be held on January 18, 2026.

A candidate can take the UCEED exam a maximum of two times, in consecutive years.
The UCD score is valid for one year, only for admission in that academic year.

The UCD 2026 score will pave the way for admission to the four-year B.Des program at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Roorkee, and the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Jabalpur. Many other institutions also recognize UCD scores for admission to their B.Des programs. A list of institutions sharing UCD scores can be found on the UCD IIT Bombay website.

Candidates who have passed the 12th grade or equivalent examination in 2025 or are scheduled to appear for the 12th grade examination in 2026 in any stream of Science, Commerce, Arts, and Humanities from a recognized board can apply. Candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 2001 (October 1, 1996 for SC, ST, or PWD category candidates).

UCED 2026 will consist of a 300-mark question paper with a total duration of three hours. The question paper will have two parts: A and B. Part A will carry 200 marks. This computer-based exam will have three sections. Section 1 will have 14 numerical answer type questions, each carrying 4 marks. Section 2 will have 15 multiple choice questions, and Section 3 will have 28 multiple choice questions. Part B will be 100 marks. It will include questions focused on testing drawing skills and design aptitude.
