Tripura: The Tripura government is set to recruit 1,615 graduate and postgraduate teachers to address the shortage of teaching staff in government schools. A state minister gave this information on Tuesday. He said that out of the new appointments, 915 teachers will be postgraduates of class 11th and class 12th.

Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said, "The Council of Ministers in its meeting today approved the proposal to fill 915 postgraduate teachers and 700 graduate teachers (class 9 and class 10) to address the shortage of teaching personnel."

He said that the Tripura Teachers Recruitment Board (TRBT) will appoint postgraduate teachers, and 700 postgraduate teachers will be appointed through the existing recruitment process of the Secondary Education Department.

Chowdhury said that the Cabinet has also approved the proposal to recruit 37 posts of various categories, including professors, associate professors, and sub-registrars of Tripura Law University.
