The wait is over for millions of candidates: Bihar STET results released, over 2.56 lakh candidates successful; know the cut-off
The Bihar STET 2025 results have been released, with over 2.56 lakh out of 4.42 lakh candidates declared successful. Candidates can check their results on the official website.
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has released the results of the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2025. The wait is finally over for the lakhs of candidates who appeared for this examination. Candidates who took the exam can now check their results on the official website bsebstet.org.
The Bihar STET 2025 examination was conducted between October and November 2025. The exam was conducted entirely in computer-based mode. The examination was held in two phases: Paper-1 for teachers of classes 9 and 10, and Paper-2 for teachers of classes 11 and 12. The examination was conducted peacefully at various centres across the state.
A large number of candidates participated in the STET examination this year. A total of 4,42,214 candidates appeared for the exam. Of these, 2,56,301 candidates have been declared successful. The overall pass percentage is 57.96 per cent, which the examination committee has deemed satisfactory.
Number of candidates in Paper-1
In Paper-1, which was conducted for classes 9 and 10, a total of 2,46,415 candidates appeared. This included 1,07,229 women and 1,39,186 men. The Paper-1 exam was conducted for a total of 16 subjects. 1,54,145 candidates were successful in this paper. The overall pass percentage for Paper-1 was 62.56, which is higher than that of Paper-2.
How many candidates were there in Paper-2? In Paper-2, the exam was conducted for classes 11 and 12, a total of 195,799 candidates appeared. This included 71,178 female and 124,621 male candidates. The exam covered a total of 29 subjects. 102,156 candidates passed Paper-2, resulting in a pass percentage of 52.17%.
Number of Successful Candidates
Of the total 256,301 successful candidates, 104,167 are women, and 152,134 are men. According to the examination committee, the performance of female candidates was significantly better this time.
Minimum passing marks for the Bihar STET 2025 have been set for different categories. General category candidates need to secure at least 50 percent marks to pass. For the Backward Classes, the minimum passing marks are 45.5 percent. Candidates from the Extremely Backward Classes need 42.5 percent marks to pass. For Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, 40 percent marks are required. The passing mark for disabled and female candidates is also 40 per cent.
How to Check Results
The process for checking the results is quite simple. First, candidates need to visit the official website bsebstet.org. On the homepage, a link for “Bihar STET 2025 Result/Scorecard” will be visible, which they need to click. After that, candidates will have to enter their application number and date of birth or password. Upon logging in, the result and scorecard will be displayed on the screen.
