A big news has come out regarding NEET PG. The Supreme Court has fixed the date for hearing the petitions raising concerns regarding the transparency of the NEET-PG examination process, especially the release of answer keys and evaluation protocols, today i.e. Monday. The Supreme Court of the country has fixed the date of August 3 for hearing on this matter. A bench of Justice K. Vinod Chandran and Justice NV Anjaria heard the petitions briefly on these issues.
What is the demand?
One of the petitions filed through advocate Tanvi Dubey challenges the opaque nature of the evaluation system and demands several directions to the National Board of Examinations (NBE), the authority conducting the NEET PG examination.
The petition sought issuance of question paper and answer key to the candidates and disclosure of correct and incorrect questions as per evaluation.
It also sought directions for re-evaluation or re-checking in cases of discrepancies in marks.
The petition also sought directions to enable candidates to challenge disputed questions or answers and to establish a evident evaluation system for current and future NEET-PG exams.
The petition alleged lack of transparency and said that this has reduced the credibility of such an important exam and adversely affected the rights of the candidates.
