The Education Department in Rajasthan is continuously introducing innovations for school and college students. Recently, the School Education Department launched the National E-Library in Rajasthan to develop reading habits and provide access to excellent books. This is a free digital library for children, which will promote digital education and e-libraries in Rajasthan.

The School Education Department has specifically included interesting and informative books in this e-library to cultivate reading habits among school children. These books will help make learning fun for children.  It's worth noting that the Rajasthan Education Department has continuously launched digital libraries and other education-related apps for government schools, including the Raj-E-Gyan portal and the My Career Advisor app. These platforms provide e-content, videos, audio, PPTs, and books for children, allowing them to easily access digital learning materials.

Content Available in the National E-Library

The e-library launched by the School Education Department offers children books in various genres such as fiction, non-fiction, picture books, biographies, autobiographies, self-help, science and technology, adventure, and mystery. It includes over 5500 non-educational books from 200 publishers. These books are available in 23 Indian languages, allowing children and young people to read for free according to their interests. This e-library also includes NCERT books, enabling students to learn regional languages as well. This e-library has been developed by the National Book Trust and is available on platforms such as websites and mobile apps. Importantly, children can also access this e-library and study in the smart classrooms of their schools.

‘E-Jaadui Pitara’ for Young Children
The National E-Library also includes ‘E-Jaadui Pitara’ (E-Magical Box) specifically for young children and primary school students. The e-library includes educational books along with games, puzzles, puppets, posters, flashcards, story cards, activity books for children, and handbooks for teachers. This will make learning easier for children. The books in the e-library are categorized into four age groups: 3 to 8 years, 8 to 11 years, 11 to 14 years, and 14 years and above. This categorization in the e-library is specifically designed according to the National Education Policy 2020, ensuring that readers of all ages can find books that match their understanding and interests.
