The last date to apply for the NEET UG exam is very near. Therefore, it is crucial for students to know some important rules related to the exam.

Important news has come out for students applying for NEET UG 2026, the country's largest medical entrance exam. The NTA is closing the registration window soon. Students who have not yet applied can fill out the form as soon as possible by visiting the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.

The NTA has clearly stated that the application process is open for a limited time and no new applications will be accepted after this. Therefore, students wishing to take this exam for medical studies this year must complete their form in time.

When can the form be filled out?

The NTA had given students approximately one month's time to register. The online application process began on February 8, 2026. This process will now close on March 8, 2026, at 11:50 pm. This means the application deadline is very near. Students who have not yet filled out their forms should register as soon as possible. Last-minute traffic on the website can cause problems.

Students must keep these important rules in mind:

According to the NTA, a candidate can only fill out one application form. If a student fills out multiple forms using different email addresses or mobile numbers, all their applications may be rejected. When registering, provide the same email address and mobile number as yours or your parents'. Admit cards, OTPs, and other important information are sent through this method.

Candidates must take a live photo when submitting their form. This photo will be compared to the photo on their Aadhaar card. If the two photos do not match, the student will be required to provide a valid document. Auto-verification will be performed using Aadhaar during registration. Any errors in the name, date of birth, or gender may result in the application being rejected. Therefore, Aadhaar information must be accurate.

This year, the rules for selecting an exam city have been changed. Previously, students could select four cities, but this feature has now been removed. The city of the exam center will now be determined based on the candidate's permanent or current address. Once the city is selected, there will be no opportunity to change it.

Students who have chosen the OBC-NCL category must check their name in the central list. Choosing the wrong category will result in a loss of reservation benefits. The NTA will allow students to make corrections to their forms between March 10 and 12, 2026. However, only certain information, such as photo or signature, can be changed. Mobile number, email, and Aadhaar details cannot be changed. The NTA has not made the APAAR ID mandatory this year. If a student has this ID, they can fill it in the form.

The exam will be conducted in 13 languages

The NEET UG exam is conducted in a total of 13 languages. These include Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Students must select their preferred language when filling out the form. Please note that there is no option to change the language after applying.

When will the NEET UG 2026 exam be held?

The NEET UG 2026 exam will be held on May 3, 2026. The exam will be held in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The total duration of the exam will be 3 hours. The exam center will be listed on the admit card. Dates for downloading the admit card, the exam city, and the result will be announced later on the official website.
