This is a crucial time for students applying for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2026). The registration deadline for this exam, which opens the door to admission to graduate courses in the country's leading and renowned universities, is fast approaching. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the online application process for CUET UG 2026 on January 3, 2026. Interested students can apply by visiting the NTA's official website, cuet.nta.nic.in. The registration deadline is January 31, 2026, meaning students have very little time left to apply.

When will the exam be held?

The CUET UG 2026 exam will be conducted between May 11 and May 31, 2026. The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode at exam centers located across the country and abroad. Students will be informed about the exam date, shift, and center details later through the admit card.

What to do if you make a mistake on the form?

Sometimes, students make mistakes, both small and large, while filling out the form in a hurry. Keeping this in mind, the NTA has also provided a correction window. The correction window for CUET UG 2026 will be open from February 2nd to February 4th, 2026, until 11:50 pm. During this time, students will be able to make necessary corrections to their application forms.

Who Can Apply?

To appear for CUET UG 2026, candidates must have passed the 12th standard from a recognized board or institute. Students who are scheduled to appear for the 12th standard in 2026 can also apply. There is no age limit for this exam, meaning students need not worry about age.

Application Fee:

The application fee for General category students is ₹1,000. OBC (non-creamy layer) and EWS category candidates will have to pay ₹900. The fee for SC, ST, differently-abled, and third gender candidates is ₹800. Candidates choosing exam centers outside India will have to pay a fee of ₹4,500.

How to Apply

  • First, candidates should visit the official website, cuet.nta.nic.in.
  • Click on the "Registration for CUET (UG) 2026" link on the homepage.
  • Select the "New Registration" option and proceed.
  • Now, fill in all the required information, such as name, mobile number, and email ID, and submit.
  • After completing the registration, log in.
  • After logging in, fill in your educational information, exam center choice, and other details on the dashboard.
  • Following this, upload your photo, signature, and required documents in the correct size.
  • Pay the application fee online and submit the form.
  • Finally, take a printout of the completed form and keep it with you.
