UP School Chalo Abhiyan 2026-27: The Government of Uttar Pradesh has geared up to bring every child in the state under the fold of education. The 'School Chalo Abhiyan' (Go to School Campaign) for the academic session 2026-27 has been officially launched, commencing on April 1st. The primary objective of this campaign is to identify and enroll children aged 6 to 14 who, for any reason, have been deprived of education or have dropped out of school midway. This time, the UP Education Department is working towards a target of achieving a zero dropout rate.

The 'School Chalo Abhiyan' has been divided into two phases: the first phase will run from April 1st to April 15th, while the second phase will be conducted between July 1st and July 15th. During this period, teachers will conduct door-to-door surveys to identify children within their respective catchment areas who are out of school (dropouts). It will now be ensured that financial constraints or a lack of documentation do not stand as a barrier to any child's future. Schools across the state have been issued strict directives to complete all necessary preparations by March 31st.

Teachers to Reach Every Household; Database to be Created

To ensure the success of the 'School Chalo Abhiyan,' teams of teachers will conduct surveys across neighborhoods and villages. During this survey, children aged 3 will be enrolled in Anganwadis or Balvatikas (preschools), while children aged 6 will be enrolled in Class 1. Special attention will be focused on children aged 7 to 14 who have dropped out of school, to reintegrate them into the education system.

Documentation Mandate Waived; Every Child to Receive Admission

It is often observed that children from underprivileged sections of society are unable to get enrolled due to the lack of documents such as a birth certificate or an Aadhaar card. The UP government has clarified that no child shall be denied admission on the grounds of the unavailability of these documents. Furthermore, a target of 100% promotion has been set for students in Classes 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 11. This initiative aims to ensure continuity in upper primary and secondary education. Budgetary Provision for Preparations

To ensure the effective implementation and promotion of the 'School Chalo Abhiyan' (Back-to-School Campaign) in UP, a sum of ₹2,500 will be allocated to every school. This amount is to be utilized for school sanitation, banners and posters, and awareness rallies. All District Basic Education Officers have been directed to personally monitor this campaign to ensure that no child in Uttar Pradesh remains uneducated.
