There is an important update for teachers in Bihar appointed based on TET and STET. The Education Department has directed that verified certificates be submitted for teachers appointed up to the year 2015. These documents have been requisitioned again as part of an investigation by the Vigilance Investigation Bureau. Teacher records have been sought from all appointing units at the district level. Additionally, information regarding TET-qualified teachers appointed via BPSC or those transferred to other districts must also be provided. Furthermore, it is mandatory for teachers appointed in primary schools based on B.Ed qualifications to complete a six-month bridge course.

**Certificates of teachers appointed up to 2015 to be submitted**
The Vigilance Investigation Bureau has sought verified records of certificates for teachers appointed up to 2015 based on TET and STET. In this regard, the District Programme Officer (DPO) – Establishment has issued instructions to all appointing units. They have been asked to provide block-wise verified certificates along with the list of teachers.

**Records of BPSC-appointed teachers also sought**
The directive also covers teachers appointed via BPSC based on TET and those transferred to other districts. All Block Education Officers (BEOs) have been instructed to provide the relevant records within one week. This includes the academic and professional training certificates submitted at the time of appointment.

**Matter related to the investigation of fake certificates**
The Vigilance Department has been investigating the certificates of appointed teachers since 2015. In Muzaffarpur, over 400 teachers were identified as having been appointed based on allegedly fake certificates. FIRs were also registered in some cases. Now, verified records are being collected again.

**7,569 teachers required to complete bridge course**
A total of 7,569 teachers in Bihar, appointed to primary schools based on B.Ed qualifications, are required to complete a six-month bridge course. While 8,290 teachers had applied for this, 7,845 applications were submitted along with the requisite fee. The document verification process for more than 200 teachers is yet to be completed.

 The course must be completed within one year.
This bridge course, being conducted through NIOS, has a duration of six months. Teachers are required to complete it within one year from the official start date of the course. Failure to complete the course within the stipulated timeframe could render the appointment invalid.
