SSC's big decision: Now getting a government job will be easier, seats will not remain vacant..
Reform in SSC Recruitment: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has brought great news for young people preparing for government jobs. It's often seen that despite hard work, many students miss out on selection because some seats remain vacant. But this will no longer be the case. The SSC has introduced a new rule called the "Sliding Mechanism," which will provide the same benefits as a waiting list. Let's find out what this SSC mechanism is...
Why was this needed?
The SSC noticed that a large number of positions remain vacant each year. This happens because some students, after being selected, don't appear for document verification or don't join because they have found a better job. Since the SSC previously didn't have a waiting list, these vacant seats were added to the next year's recruitment, causing a loss to eligible candidates from that year. A new rule has been introduced to address this problem.
What is the 'Sliding Mechanism'?
First Round (FRTA)
First, the results will be released using the existing method, and candidates will be assigned positions based on their preferences.
Aadhaar Verification (IV)
Students whose names appear in the first round will need to visit the SSC regional office and complete their Aadhaar authentication. Candidates will have approximately 10 days to complete this process.
Choose FIX and FLOAT
During verification, students will be given two options:
FIX
If you are happy with the position you received, select this position. Your position will not be changed after this.
FLOAT
If you wish to receive your higher preference position if vacant seats remain, select this position.
Vacant Seats Will Be Available
Students who are absent during verification will be considered vacant. These vacant seats will be filled by students who selected the FLOAT option. This means that your chances of securing your desired position based on merit will increase. After this, the final result will be released, and the files of selected students will be sent to the relevant departments.
Keep these things in mind:
This process will be conducted only once; the list will not be released repeatedly. If you choose 'FLOAT' and are offered a new position, you must join it. Failure to do so will result in losing both the old and new seats. If you fail to appear for verification within the stipulated time, your candidacy will be cancelled.
The SSC believes that this step is in the best interest of students and will provide employment to more young people. The Commission will soon release the complete SOP.
