SSC: SSC on the path to UPSC, will release the data of eligible candidates, know what will be the benefits..

Like UPSC, SSC will also share the data of those candidates who cleared all the stages of the selection process but did not get a place in the final merit. The Staff Selection Commission has announced that it will start publicly sharing specific personal and examination details of candidates who appeared in the final stage of recruitment examinations but were not recommended for appointment.
The initiative is part of a government directive aimed at creating a group of employable candidates that can be used by public sector undertakings (PSUs), autonomous bodies, and other agencies for future recruitment. The decision will be applicable from those examinations whose final results have been or will be declared in November 2024 and thereafter. The information will be arranged in the order of roll number and made available on the commission's website.
Data will be linked to the centralized recruitment portal.
The data released by the commission can also be linked by the government to a centralized recruitment portal, which it plans to develop. According to the official statement, the commission will not be responsible for the accuracy of the details submitted by the candidates. It will be the responsibility of the recruiting organizations, such as public sector undertakings or autonomous institutions, to verify and authenticate the information of the candidates before proceeding with any recruitment process.
This move is in line with the guidelines issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) in June 2016 and aims to streamline the process of identifying eligible candidates who missed out on selection in the recruitment examinations conducted by SSC, so that they can get employment. The Commission has released complete information in this regard on its official website.
What information will be in the data?
For the candidates who want to join this scheme, SSC will make the following details publicly available, including the name of the candidate, father or husband's name, date of birth, category (General/SC/ST/OBC/Economically Weaker Section/Disabled/Minority), gender, educational qualification, total marks obtained, rank, complete address and email ID.
Candidates will have this option.
Candidates will have the option to opt out of this scheme while filling out the application form. Only those candidates will have their data published who do not opt out. SSC has clarified that the disclosure scheme will not apply to examinations for selection posts. For more information, candidates can visit the official website of SSC.
