Exam Schedule
According to the notification issued by the Commission, the Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) Paper-1 examination will be held from November 2 to November 6, 2026. Additionally, the Telecommunication Engineering paper examination is scheduled for November 30 to December 1, 2026. Exam city details for the Telecommunication examination will be released approximately 8 to 10 days before the exam. Admit cards for candidates will be made available on the portal 2–3 days prior to their respective examination dates.
Aadhaar-based registration mandatory for scribes; deadline is October 27
The Commission has introduced new, stringent rules for candidates with disabilities who wish to use a scribe (an assistant to write on their behalf) during the examination. Scribe registration is now linked to Aadhaar authentication. Such candidates are mandatorily required to map their scribe via a one-time registration (OTR) on the SSC portal before 11:00 PM on October 27, 2026. Failure to complete this registration by the specified deadline will result in the inability to avail the facility of a scribe.
Final Opportunity to Change Subjects and Set Priorities
Candidates who applied for both the JE (Telecommunication) and Scientific Assistant (SA) posts are being provided a final opportunity to revise their subject preferences.
Eligible candidates may, if they wish, change their subject to Computer Science (CS/IT) or Physics. This can be done via the 'City Selection' option until 11:00 PM on October 27, 2026. No further changes will be permitted after this time.
