**When will the Junior Engineer exam be held?**
According to the official notification released by the SSC, the Junior Engineer examination is scheduled to be conducted from November 2 to November 6, 2026. In Paper-1, candidates will face 50 questions (50 marks) on General Intelligence and Reasoning, 50 questions (50 marks) on General Awareness, and 100 questions (100 marks) on Engineering subjects. The duration for Paper-1 is set at two hours. A negative marking scheme applies, with a deduction of one-fourth of a mark for every incorrect answer. Candidates who qualify in this exam will be invited to appear for Paper-2.
**Paper-2 Exam Pattern**
Candidates who qualify in Paper-1 will proceed to Paper-2. In Paper-2, candidates will answer 100 questions (300 marks) related to Engineering subjects. One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. This exam will also be conducted over a duration of two hours.

Candidates have only one month to prepare for the exam. To perform well, it is recommended to solve one mock test daily.
