Result Released After Identity Verification
The SSC had released the first round of tentative allocation for the Junior Engineer examination on July 9, 2026. Subsequently, all shortlisted candidates needed to participate in the 'sliding' identity verification process. This process was conducted at the respective SSC regional offices on July 20 and 21, 2026; the final result has been declared following the completion of this process.
1,731 Candidates Provisionally Recommended
According to the Commission, post allocation has been determined based on the post preferences submitted online by candidates, their merit, and the 'FIX' or 'FLOAT' options selected during the sliding process. A total of 1,731 candidates have been provisionally shortlisted in the final result for the subsequent selection process.
How Many Candidates Chose 'FIX' and 'FLOAT' Options?
According to data released by the SSC, 585 candidates opted for the 'FIX' option during the sliding process, while 1,028 candidates selected the 'FLOAT' option. Additionally, 118 new allocations were made to fill seats that became vacant due to the absence of some candidates during the sliding and identity verification processes.
Selected Candidates by Category
A total of 1,731 candidates have been provisionally selected in the final result. These include 780 candidates from the General (UR) category, 432 from OBC, 270 from SC, 127 from EWS, and 122 from ST. According to the Commission, provisional recommendations have been issued for all reported vacancies.
