SSC Exam: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts several competitive examinations every year. More than 2 crore candidates appear in these competitive examinations every year, while 1.5 lakh candidates also get appointments every year. Overall, SSC is the largest and most important recruitment commission of the country, but for the last few years, SSC has been in the dock. For example, for the last few years, candidates themselves have been raising questions on the transparency and system of SSC exams, and SSC candidates have been protesting on the road regarding this, but now SSC is claiming to conduct error-free exams.

Let us know what the 5 major changes are, due to the implementation of which SSC is claiming error-free exams. Let us understand in detail.

Exams in the hands of four agencies

SSC has made the biggest change in relation to the exams regarding agencies. Actually, SSC has now changed the vendor, i.e., agency, and 4 agencies have been given the responsibility of the exams. All the agencies have been given different tasks. For example, 4 agencies have been given the responsibility of conducting exams, security, application management, and preparing question papers separately.

The exam will be held in one shift.
SSC has made a big change and has now announced to conduct exams in one shift only. Preparations are underway to implement it. SSC CGL 2025 is to be organized from 12th to 26th September. This entire exam will be conducted in a single shift.

The normalization formula changed
Under the new changes, SSC has announced to implement a new formula of normalization after 6 years. This formula will start with the conduct of exams in one shift. Actually, till now, SSC used to conduct exams for several days, and exams were conducted in two shifts as well. In such a situation, if there is a simple paper and a difficult paper in one shift, then the formula of normalization was applicable in different shifts, but SSC has clarified that if exams are held in one shift, then normalization will also be done in one shift.

Aadhaar will prevent cheating.

SSC has made Aadhaar authentication mandatory in exams. Although candidates are worried about this, it is believed that Aadhaar authentication will stop irregularities like cheating, fake appointments, and dummy candidates in exams. Candidates will benefit from this.

Exam center within 100 KM

For SSC exams, till now, candidates were allotted exam centers up to 500 KM away from their home. In such a situation, candidates had to face many problems. Under the new changes, now SSC is allocating exam centers up to 100 KM away from the candidates' homes. In SSC CGL 2025, 90% of the candidates have been allotted exam centers up to 100 KM from their homes.
