There is very useful news for the candidates preparing for the SSC recruitment. Recruitments to be done by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will now be completed in 6 to 10 months. Earlier, the recruitment process used to take 15-18 months to complete, but it has been reduced. Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh gave this information while answering a written question in the Rajya Sabha. He told in a written reply that the notice period for the examinations has been reduced from about 45 days to 21 days.

The minister informed that the SSC has completely changed the pen-and-paper-based examinations to computer-based examinations. Apart from this, the number of levels has been reduced in some examinations. According to Singh, descriptive-type question papers have been removed from all examinations except the Combined Hindi Translator Examination. The interview process has also been discontinued. The verification of documents of selected candidates is now being done directly by the ministries and departments related to the post-specific vacancy.

SSC has started the e-dossier system

Responding to the question, Jitendra Singh said that SSC has started an online centralized e-dossier system to ensure safe and transparent handling of the records of the candidates. Singh said that with this system, the data of the candidates will be completely safe and can also be easily tracked. The e-dossier system has been implemented in examinations like Combined Graduate Level 2024, Combined Higher Secondary Level 2024, Junior Engineer 2024, and Multi-Tasking Staff and Havildar 2024.

These exams are being conducted in 13 languages.

On the use of regional languages in recruitment examinations, the Minister of State for Personnel said that from 2022, SSC is conducting three All India examinations in 13 languages besides Hindi and English. These recruitment examinations include Multi-Tasking Staff and Havildar, Combined Higher Secondary Level and Constable (GD).
