CGL Tier 2 Exam on January 18
Looking at the dates, candidates have less than a month to prepare for the CGL Tier 2 exam. Approximately 1.38 lakh candidates will appear for this exam. According to the Tier 1 result data, 6196 candidates have been shortlisted for the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) post, 2781 for the Statistical Investigator Grade-2 post, and 1,30,418 candidates for other posts in the CGL recruitment.

CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2025: What is it?
Tier 2 will consist of two papers. Paper-I will have 60 questions from Mathematical Abilities, 70 from Reasoning and General Intelligence in Section-I, 70 questions from English Language and Comprehension and General Awareness in Section-II, and 20 questions from Computer Knowledge Test in Section-III. Section IV will be the Data Entry Speed Test. Paper 2 will have 100 questions from Statistics. All these exams will be held on January 18, 2026. The Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) will be conducted on the second day, January 19, 2026. This will be a qualifying test, meaning candidates must pass it.
When will the CGL Tier 2 admit cards be released?
Admit cards for the CGL Tier 2 exam will also be issued to the candidates. Candidates will likely be able to check their admit cards in the second week of January. The SSC will share all the necessary information on its official website. Once the admit card download link is available, candidates will be able to access their admit cards using their registration number and password. Until then, continue preparing for the exam.
