The path to pursuing engineering studies in Hindi is becoming easier. The Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS) in Indore has launched a B.Tech course in Civil Engineering taught in Hindi. This is being hailed as the country's first Hindi-medium B.Tech program. Notably, the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is not mandatory for admission to this course; students who have passed Class 12 are eligible to apply. Currently, 13 students have enrolled in the program, which has an intake capacity of 30 seats. More students are expected to be admitted through college-level counseling in the near future.

**Engineering Studies in Hindi**
The primary objective of this new B.Tech course at SGSITS is to provide opportunities to students who completed their schooling in the Hindi medium. Students coming from rural areas and government schools often struggle to grasp technical engineering subjects taught in English. Now, they will be able to study Civil Engineering in their own language.

The curriculum incorporates traditional Indian construction techniques alongside modern Civil Engineering practices. Students will also learn about the techniques associated with ancient temples, bridges, and architectural styles. The AICTE has translated standard English engineering textbooks into Hindi. Students will have the option to write their exam answers in either Hindi or English.

**Multiple Qualifications Over Four Years**
JEE is not required for admission to this course; students who have passed Class 12 can enroll through the prescribed procedure. Currently, 13 out of the 30 available seats have been filled, and the remaining seats are likely to be filled during college-level counseling.

A unique feature of this curriculum is that students will receive certificates and degrees at various stages of their studies. After the first year, they will receive a Surveyor and Draftsman certificate; after the second year, a Diploma in Civil Engineering; and after the third year, a B.Voc qualification. Upon completing the full four years, they will be awarded a B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering.

**Benefits Regarding Fees and Employment**
The Madhya Pradesh government will waive the tuition fees for one year for students enrolling in this course. Additionally, there is a provision for an incentive of ₹2 lakh upon completion of the final year. Furthermore, employment agreements have been signed with companies such as Path India and Eco Construction, raising hopes that students who complete the course will secure job opportunities.
