A senior official said that the Imphal River has broken its embankment in Singjamei Oinam Thingal in Imphal West and the Kongba River has broken its embankment in parts of Kongba Irong and Keirao in Imphal East. The Iril River is also in spate in parts of Sawombung and Chhetrigao in Imphal East. "The river water has entered residential areas in large quantities... Relief and rescue operations are on for the affected people, the official said.
