The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to close schools in view of the severe heat. In an order issued by the Bhopal District Administration, it was stated that classes for students ranging from Nursery to Class 8 in all government and private schools within the district will remain suspended until April 30. However, teachers have been instructed to report to school daily at the scheduled time, as usual.

**Summer Vacations Begin in Odisha Schools**
Considering the rising temperatures, the Odisha government has announced the commencement of summer vacations (School Summer Vacation 2026) significantly earlier than usual. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has declared summer holidays for all schools across the state starting from April 27, 2026. Typically, summer vacations in the state commence on May 6. The decision to declare summer vacations ahead of schedule was taken after temperatures in various districts of the state soared to reach 44 degrees Celsius.

**When Do Summer Vacations Begin in UP?**
Due to the intense heat and prevailing heatwave conditions, school timings have been revised in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. In Ghaziabad and Lucknow, school opening hours have been rescheduled to 7:30 AM. Schools will now operate from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM only. 

Regarding summer vacations in UP schools, similar to the previous year, the holidays are set to begin on May 20 this time as well. According to the academic calendar released by the state government, schools in Uttar Pradesh are expected to observe summer vacations from May 20 to June 15, 2026. 

Summer Vacations in Rajasthan Start May 17
The Rajasthan government announced the dates for summer vacations in the state's schools as early as March 31, 2026. According to the schedule released by the Education Department, summer vacations in all schools across the state will run from May 17 to June 20. However, teachers have demanded that the holidays be extended until June 30.

Schools in Chhattisgarh to Remain Closed Until June 15
The Chhattisgarh government has announced summer vacations for schools in light of the severe heatwave currently prevailing in the region. The state government has declared summer holidays for all government, private, and aided schools from April 20 to June 15, 2026. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has stated that the safety of children is the government's top priority.
