Due to the cold weather and pollution, holidays have been declared in private and government schools in Delhi. Schools have been announced to be closed from December 23 to January 1. Schools to remain closed for 15 days in Haryana.
The Haryana government has announced holidays in schools. Private and government schools in Haryana will remain closed from January 1 to 15. The state government has announced the holidays, keeping in mind the cold weather. Also, all schools in the state will remain closed on December 25, 26, and 27. Schools will be closed on December 25 for Christmas Day, December 26 for Shaheed Udham Singh Jayanti, and December 27 for Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti.

Schools closed in several districts of UP, to reopen on January 15
Due to the cold weather and pollution, holidays have been declared in schools in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. This includes districts in the NCR region. Schools in Kanpur and Mainpuri are also currently on holiday. ​​Physical classes are also suspended in many districts. However, according to the official order issued by the state government, there will be a winter vacation in schools in UP from January 1 to January 15.

 School Timings Changed in Bihar, Holiday Announcement Expected Soon
Due to the cold weather, school timings have been changed in several districts of Bihar.  Schools are now operating from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Schools are closed in several districts, including Chhapra and Gopalganj. However, schools are expected to close from January 1st. An official order from the state government has not yet been issued.

8-Day Holiday in Punjab
Considering the cold weather and cold wave, holidays have been declared in Punjab schools. All schools in the state will remain closed from December 24th to January 1st. This amounts to an 8-day winter vacation. However, due to Saturday and Sunday falling within this period, schools are expected to formally reopen on January 5th.

Schools to Remain Closed for 12 Days in Rajasthan
Due to the severe cold, the Rajasthan School Education Department has announced holidays, declaring a 12-day winter vacation. The winter vacation in Rajasthan will be from December 25th to January 5th, 2026.  Schools will remain closed for approximately 12 days.
