School Winter Vacation: Amidst pollution and fog, the Delhi government makes a big decision; these children will now have to go to school.
Delhi Schools: Amidst fog and pollution, the Delhi government has taken a major decision regarding schools. The government has decided to discontinue classes being conducted in hybrid mode. Classes for students of grades 6 to 9 and 11 will now be held in physical mode, meaning these students will have to attend school in person. This step comes after a significant improvement in air quality levels in the national capital and the lifting of GRAP 4 restrictions.
The Delhi Directorate of Education has issued a notice directing all government, government-aided, and recognized private schools under NDMC, MCD, and Delhi Cantonment Board to conduct physical classes. This order is effective immediately and impacts thousands of students across Delhi.
These Students Will Not Have to Go to School Yet
According to the Directorate of Education, regular physical classes will now be held for grades 6 to 9 and 11. Classes for students up to grade 5 will continue in hybrid mode. Classes for grades 10 and 12 will continue in offline mode as before. Additional Director of Education (Schools) Dr. Rita Sharma stated in a circular issued by the DoE that all heads of schools must ensure immediate compliance. She directed schools to inform parents and guardians without delay and ensure the smooth implementation of the instructions.
Schools Must Mandatorily Follow the Rules
District and Zonal Education Officers have been asked to closely monitor the situation. The DoE has directed them to ensure that schools follow the instructions properly and without any disruption. Meanwhile, winter vacation in Delhi schools will be from January 1st to January 15th.
