How many days will schools remain closed on Diwali?
Diwali festival is a five-day festival. But in most of these schools, 4 days holiday is declared for Diwali. This time Diwali is on 31 October. After this, Govardhan Puja is on 2 November, and Bhaiya Dooj is on 3 November. In such a situation, there will be a 4-day holiday in schools across the state. There will be a 4-day holiday on Chhath in Bihar too.
Chhath festival will be celebrated as soon as Diwali holidays are over. This festival is the main festival of Bihar state. In such a situation, holidays for schools have been announced in the entire state. This year this festival will start on the Shashthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month at 12:41 am on 7 November and it will end at midnight on 8 November. Therefore, keeping this festival in mind, the Bihar government has ordered to keep the schools closed from 6 November to 9 November. In such a situation, there will be a 4 day holiday in schools on the occasion of Chhath Puja in Bihar.
Condition of other states
Apart from UP, there will be holidays from 31 October to 2 November on the Diwali festival in Rajasthan, Gujarat, while in Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Bihar, Diwali holidays will be on 1 and 2 November. Along with this, holidays have been announced in other states as per traditions.
