School Holidays in October 2025: October 2025 is going to be a very special month for schoolchildren. This month is filled with major festivals and special occasions. Schools will be closed for several days due to festivals like Gandhi Jayanti, Dussehra, Diwali, Govardhan Puja, and Bhai Dooj. Sunday and Saturday holidays will also be added, giving students plenty of time to relax and enjoy the festivals.

Like every year, October is full of festivals this year. But the special thing is that many festivals are coming together. For example, Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra fall on the same day on October 2nd. In such a situation, this day will be an opportunity for a double celebration for children.

Sundays and Saturdays in October

This year, there are four Sundays in October – 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th. Schools that have holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays will also have holidays on October 11th and 25th. This means that children will have ample time to relax and celebrate the festivals each week.

Holidays for Major Festivals

October 2 – Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra
October 20 – Diwali
October 22 – Govardhan Puja
October 23 – Bhai Dooj
October 27 – Lalai Chhath
October 28 – Chhath Puja

This year, Diwali falls on Monday, October 20th. This will be preceded by a Sunday holiday on October 19th, followed by a Diwali holiday the following day. Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj fall consecutively on October 22nd and 23rd. This means that students will enjoy the festivals for several consecutive days.

Enjoying the Continuous Holidays

The third week of October will be a special one for children. Holidays begin on Sunday, October 19th, followed by Diwali on the 20th, Govardhan Puja on the 22nd, and Bhai Dooj on the 23rd. This means no need to go to school. This will be a joyous occasion for both children and families, as everyone will be able to enjoy the festivals together.
