According to officials, given the current situation in the five border districts of Jammu, an order has been issued to keep all educational institutions closed for a day.

Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar told X, "Given the current situation, all schools, colleges and educational institutions in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch will remain closed today."

According to defense sources, three civilians were killed in indiscriminate firing and shelling by the Pakistani army across the Line of Control and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir last night.

Educational institutions will remain closed in four districts of Rajasthan.

The official told PTI that as a precautionary measure, all government and private schools have been closed in Ganganagar, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, and Barmer districts.

In avenging the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian armed forces carried out missile strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in the wee hours of Wednesday, including a Jaish-e-Mohammed stronghold in Bahawalpur and a Lashkar-e-Taiba hideout in Muridke.

The Deputy Commissioner of Ferozepur has issued an order saying all schools in the district will remain closed on Wednesday, officials said. He said all schools in Pathankot will also remain closed for the next 72 hours.

Schools have also been closed in Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Fazilka districts, officials said.

The military strikes under 'Operation Sindoor' came two weeks after the massacre of 26 civilians in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.
