Scholarship: The Delhi government will provide ₹12,000 annually to students in classes 9–12; what is this scheme?

NMMSS Scholarship 2026: The Delhi government is offering a scholarship to provide financial assistance to meritorious students who have passed Class 7. Eligible students currently studying in Class 8 can apply online for this scheme. The application process has begun, and interested students can submit their forms until October 5, 2026.

Family income must be less than ₹3.5 lakh.
Only students studying in Class 8 in Delhi government schools, government-aided schools, and local body schools are eligible to participate in the exam.

Candidates must have passed Class 7 during the 2025-26 academic session.
Students belonging to the General and OBC categories must have secured at least 55% marks in Class 7.
A minimum of 50% marks is mandatory for students belonging to SC, ST, and PH (Physically Handicapped) categories.
The annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹3.5 lakh.
The income certificate must be a valid document issued by an SDM or Tehsildar.
The income certificate and other necessary documents must be submitted at the time of application.

Receive ₹1,000 per month under the scholarship.
Selected students will receive a scholarship of ₹1,000 per month—amounting to ₹12,000 annually—to continue their studies from Class 9 to Class 12. This assistance may continue up to Class 12, provided the student continues to meet the scheme's prescribed conditions. Students selected in Delhi will be nominated to the Ministry of Education under the state quota.

90 questions each in MAT and SAT; no negative marking
The examination will consist of two papers: the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Both papers will contain 90 questions each, with each paper carrying 90 marks. There will be no negative marking in the examination. General and OBC category students must secure at least 40% marks in both papers, while SC, ST, and PH category students are required to obtain 32% marks.
