China SWJTU Silk Road Scholarship: If your dream is to pursue higher studies in China, there is excellent news for you. A Chinese university has announced a fully-funded scholarship opportunity. This means that your entire education will be completely free of cost. Indian students, too, can benefit from the "New Silk Road Scholarship" being offered by Southwest University in China. Under this scheme, not only is the tuition fee waived, but students will also receive a monthly stipend.
China is emerging as an excellent destination for higher education. Several of its universities rank among the top 100 institutions globally. Moreover, compared to the US and Europe, China is also a more affordable option.
**Two Categories of Scholarships**
Southwest University's New Silk Road Scholarship is divided into two categories: Type A and Type B. Under the Type A scholarship, the full tuition fee is waived, and students also receive a monthly stipend. Specifically, undergraduate students will receive 1,100 RMB per month, postgraduate students 1,400 RMB, and PhD students 1,700 RMB. Conversely, the Type B scholarship covers only the tuition fee; it does not include a monthly stipend. Neither scholarship category covers medical insurance or accommodation expenses; students are required to make their own arrangements for these costs.
**Who Can Apply?**
The New Silk Road Scholarship will be awarded exclusively to students with strong academic records. To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must possess a minimum GPA of 3.0 or an aggregate score of over 80%. Students must also demonstrate proficiency in the language of instruction relevant to their chosen field of study. To this end, they are required to submit a language proficiency certificate (such as HSK, TOEFL iBT, or IELTS) to ensure they can effectively participate in academic coursework and communicate within the campus environment. The scholarship is awarded for a duration of 4 years for undergraduate students, 2 to 3 years for postgraduate students, and 4 years for PhD students.
