Rules tightened for UP Police and other recruitment exams; candidates can now only carry pens inside the exam centre.
The Uttar Pradesh government has issued strict instructions to ensure the recruitment examination for Sub-Inspector of Police and equivalent posts is conducted in a completely fair and safe manner. Chief Secretary SP Goyal has clearly stated to officials that any negligence or misconduct during the examination will not be tolerated. Detailed guidelines have been issued regarding the security of examination centers, monitoring of confidential materials, entry rules for candidates, and police arrangements. Furthermore, an order has been issued to expedite the process of providing jobs to dependents of government employees who died in service and resolve all matters within three months.
Chief Secretary SP Goyal stated that no lapses or negligence will be tolerated at any level in the recruitment examination for Sub-Inspector of Police and equivalent posts. He directed all District Magistrates, Police Commissioners, and senior police officers to complete the preparations for the examination promptly. He also clarified that only candidates with admit cards, valid identification cards, and a black or blue pen should be allowed entry into the examination centers.
Steps to Ensure Fair Examination
He stated that training and briefing of officials and staff are crucial to ensuring a fair examination. Even a single mistake can impact the entire examination process. Therefore, vigilance and responsibility have been urged at all levels.
Review of Preparations via Video Conferencing
On Friday, the Chief Secretary held a meeting with administrative and police officials from all districts via video conferencing. During this, a detailed review of preparations for the 2025 Recruitment Examination was conducted. Officials were instructed to ensure that designated rooms in the treasury are empty and secure to store confidential examination materials.
These rooms should have only one entrance, and adequate CCTV cameras should be installed inside and outside. Instructions were also given to ensure adequate lighting, uninterrupted internet access, and the deployment of at least two security personnel. The Nodal Officer (Administration) has been entrusted with the responsibility for this entire arrangement.
Special Instructions for Security of Examination Materials and Policing
The safest and shortest route for transporting examination materials to examination centers has been selected, and a detailed route map has been prepared. Furthermore, instructions have been given to ensure the deployment of Dial-112 vehicles around examination centers to respond immediately in case of any emergency.
Director General of Police Rajiv Krishna stated that all standard operating procedures issued by the Police Recruitment and Promotion Board should be strictly followed. This will ensure transparency and security of the examination.
Exams to be held at 1090 centers for 4543 posts
Police Recruitment and Promotion Board Chairman SB Shiradkar stated that a total of 4543 posts will be filled under this recruitment drive. 1090 examination centers have been set up across the state. The examination will be held in two shifts on March 14 and 15. The first shift will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the second shift will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A total of 15,75,760 candidates will appear in this examination, due to which security and arrangements are being specially strengthened.
There will be no further delays in employment for dependents of deceased employees.
The Chief Secretary has also issued important instructions to provide relief to dependents of government employees who died during service. He has directed officials of all departments and districts to resolve cases related to the appointment of dependents within a maximum of three months.
The government order stated that the purpose of this rule is to provide immediate financial support to the family of the deceased employee. Despite this, unnecessary delays were occurring in many cases, causing financial and mental distress to the families. Now, instructions have been given to review all pending cases and complete the recruitment process in a timely and transparent manner.
