RRB JE Exam Date 2026 Revised: A major update for candidates preparing for government jobs in the Railways. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has revised the dates for the Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) recruitment exams. The Computer-Based Test (CBT-1) stage will no longer be held on March 3, 2026. The RRB has released a revised schedule for the recruitment exams.
The recruitment exams for other positions, including Junior Engineer, in the Railways will now be held in February instead of March. According to the notice issued by the RRB, the recruitment exams will be held on February 19, 20, and 25, 2026. The exam scheduled for March 3 will now be held on February 25. However, there is no change in the exam timing.
RRB JE Exam Timing
The Railway recruitment exams will be held in three shifts. Each shift will last one and a half hours, or 90 minutes. The first shift will run from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, the second from 12:45 pm to 2:15 pm, and the third shift from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
Exam City Slip and Admit Card
The Railway Recruitment Board released the Exam City Intimation Slip on February 10th, detailing the exam city and date. Candidates can check and download it through the RRB's official website. However, the admit cards will be released four days before the exam. Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the website for the latest information.
RRB JE Vacancy: Total 2588 Vacancies
A total of 2588 vacant posts will be filled through this recruitment drive. Eligible candidates will be selected based on the CBT 1, CBT 2 written exam, and document verification. CBT 1 is a screening test, the marks of which are not counted in the final merit list. CBT 2 is a qualifying round. Please note that one-third of the marks will be deducted as negative marking in the exam.
Dates for Other Railway Recruitment Exams
It should be noted that RRB recently released the dates for several other recruitment exams, including the JE exam. These include the RRB Section Controller (CEN-04/2025) recruitment exam on February 11-12, 2026, the RRB Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP-CEN 01/2025) recruitment exam on February 16, 17, and 18, 2026, the RRB Technician Grade I and III (CEN-02/2025) recruitment exam on March 5-9, 2026, and the RRB Paramedical Staff (CEN-03/2025) recruitment exam on March 10, 11, and 12, 2026.
