Railway Group D Recruitment 2026: The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Prayagraj, conducted the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for RRB Group D at the DSA Ground from July 25 to July 28. This test was held for posts such as Assistant, Pointsman, and Track Maintainer-IV. July 31 was designated as a reserve day for the examination. A total of 3,736 candidates—comprising 3,511 males and 225 females—were called to appear for the test; however, only 2,654 candidates actually participated.

1,032 Failed the PET
Out of the participating candidates, 1,619 successfully cleared the physical test, while 1,032 failed to qualify. Consequently, the success rate in the PET was 61.00%, and the failure rate was 38.88%.

What is the PET Exam?
The Physical Efficiency Test is a crucial stage of the recruitment process, requiring each candidate to demonstrate their physical capability according to prescribed standards.

Under the standards set for the Physical Efficiency Test, male candidates are required to complete a 1,000-meter run within 4 minutes and 15 seconds. Additionally, they must carry a weight of 35 kg and cover a distance of 100 meters within 2 minutes in a single attempt.

Meanwhile, female candidates have a time limit of 5 minutes and 40 seconds for the 1,000-meter run and must carry a weight of 20 kg to cover a distance of 100 meters within 2 minutes in a single attempt.

Successfully meeting both these standards is mandatory to qualify for the next stage of recruitment.

At the venue, the railway administration first conducts PET verification, followed by biometric identification, Aadhaar authentication, and RFID registration. After this process, candidates are fully briefed on the running distance, time limits, and the rules regarding the weight-carrying task. The objective of North Central Railway and the Railway Recruitment Cell, Allahabad, is to ensure the selection of eligible candidates by conducting the entire recruitment process in a fair, transparent, and smooth manner.
